Lucas Divestore: Review and complete test of the diving shop (2026).

>-

Since 1983, the family-owned company Lucas Divestore, based in the Netherlands, has been distributing diving equipment throughout Europe. Its online store is very active and offers purchase conditions and shipping costs that vary greatly depending on your country of residence. We are examining its performance in detail.

This assessment is based on our analysis and data from August 6, 2026. We have not placed any orders with this vendor, and our rating remains free of any commercial affiliation.

Our Evaluation Method

To study the competitiveness of the store, we checked the prices of a standardized basket containing five common items. Our reference selection includes adjustable Mares Avanti Quattro+ fins in size R, a Scubapro Zoom Evo mask, a Mares Puck 4 computer, a men's 5mm Scubapro Sport wetsuit, and a complete Cressi AC2 Compact DIN regulator.

Catalog and brand selection (E1: 5/5)

The store offers one of the most extensive selections available, with 25 to 30 brands represented. The company sells both to businesses (B2B) and consumers (B2C), ranging from basic snorkels to bottle inflation compressors.

The online catalog is very comprehensive regarding technical diving equipment, dive blocks, and underwater photography. To store your photos and videos from your dives, be sure to check out our SSD comparison tool before you go.

Pricing and Test Basket (E2: 2/5)

The total cost of our reference test basket on the website amounts to €1102.05. This amount places the store 18 percent above the median market price.

The details of the prices recorded for each item show significant variations:

Reference ItemPrice Observed at Lucas Divestore
Mares Avanti Quattro+ Fins129.00 EUR
Scubapro Zoom Evo Mask65.55 EUR
Mares Puck 4 Computer229.00 EUR
Scubapro Sport Men's Wetsuit 5 mm379.50 EUR
Cressi AC2 Compact DIN Regulator299.00 EUR
Total of test basket1102.05 EUR

The Scubapro Sport 5mm wetsuit is sold for €379.50, which is €181 more than at competitors. Therefore, Lucas Divestore is not a budget store, it caters to customers looking for products that are unavailable elsewhere.

Delivery and Returns (E3: 4/5)

The free shipping threshold is €75 for Belgium. Belgian divers can therefore easily benefit from free shipping.

For France, shipping is charged for orders below €500. This is the highest threshold in our price comparison tool, which significantly disadvantages French customers. Returns are accepted within 14 days at your expense.

Customer service and advice (E4: 3/5)

Customer support is available by phone and email, but there is no online chat option. The store's workshop provides equipment servicing and routine maintenance.

Several return requests from outside the European Union document instances of packages being blocked upon return, with the store refusing to pay Dutch customs duties for re-importation. However, customer service effectively assists with VAT refunds for exports.

Navigation and Shopping Experience (E5: 4/5)

The website is fast and available in both French and English. The product pages are clear and well-documented, making it easier to find technical spare parts.

The payment process is secure, and the shopping cart seamlessly integrates the calculation of shipping costs. The overall ergonomics of the website are good.

Reliability and Trustworthiness (E6: 4/5)

Lucas Divestore enjoys a solid reputation and has over forty years of experience in the diving industry. On Trustpilot, the store displays a rating of 4.5 out of 5 based on 59 reviews as of August 6, 2026.

The store responds to one-third of negative reviews in order to resolve disputes. The legal structure and the physical store located in the Netherlands provide serious guarantees.

Who is this store for?

This table helps you determine if Lucas Divestore is suitable for your needs:

Diver ProfileLucas Divestore Verdict
Recreational BeginnerAverage, prices are high on basic standard equipment.
Confirmed DiverSuitable, for finding specific parts from major brands.
Underwater PhotographerGood, wide selection of lighting accessories and arms.
Technical DiverExcellent, very extensive selection of cylinders and compressors.
Customer in FranceNot very interesting, except for orders over 500 EUR.
Customer in BelgiumVery advantageous, free shipping from a purchase of 75 EUR.

Verdict: Lucas Divestore, score 3.70 / 5

Lucas Divestore ranks fourth in our comparison. It is a recommended retailer for Belgian divers who appreciate free shipping on orders over €75 and the option to have tanks shipped without extra charges.

For French customers, the high prices and the free shipping threshold of 500 euros encourage careful consideration. Consider taking a comprehensive AquaExposure training course to learn how to properly maintain your regulators.
