01Record capacity for seamless operationThe TeamGroup PRO+ stands out with this 2TB version, a capacity that is still rare in the microSD card market as of August 2026 [1]. This abundance of storage allows you to shoot in 4K UHD at high frame rates without worrying about the minutes counting down on your camera's screen. In scuba diving, where every encounter can be unique, never being interrupted by a low storage warning provides a significant advantage. File management then becomes a task for the end of the day rather than an urgent issue between dives, leaving more time for equipment preparation.
02Performance Enhanced by TechnologyIn terms of performance, TeamGroup claims theoretical peak speeds of 160 MB/s for reading and 110 MB/s for writing for models with a capacity of 256 GB or greater [1]. However, it's important to note a technical detail. Achieving these speeds requires a card reader that is compatible with the brand's proprietary technology. Without this specific equipment, performance levels typically remain within the standard limits of the UHS-I bus, which is approximately 100 MB/s for reading and 90 MB/s for writing [2].
03Robustness designed for field use.The underwater environment is unforgiving of carelessness. The TeamGroup PRO+ was designed to withstand harsh conditions, a crucial feature for equipment transported in waterproof bags that are often handled roughly. The manufacturer guarantees protection against water, dust, and impacts [1]. While the technical documentation does not specify a particular IP rating, this level of resistance provides peace of mind during daily handling on a boat.

06A choice dictated by exploration. The TeamGroup PRO+ microSDXC card doesn't aim to break speed records. Its strength lies in its 2TB capacity, which frees the diver's mind. Being able to record every moment of a dive without worrying about the storage capacity allows you to focus on the light filtering through the surface and the behavior of the observed species.

Questions about the Journal

What is the actual maximum capacity of the TeamGroup PRO+?

The TeamGroup PRO+ series offers storage capacities ranging from 128GB up to a record 2TB, allowing you to store dozens of hours of 4K video without needing to change storage media.

Is the memory card truly waterproof for diving?

The manufacturer guarantees water resistance, but without a specific IP rating. It is resistant to splashes and humidity, but it must absolutely remain inside a waterproof housing during dives.

What speeds can you realistically expect to achieve?

If the technical specifications state a read speed of 160 MB/s, standard UHS-I usage tests show stabilized read speeds of around 100 MB/s and write speeds of 90 MB/s.

TeamGroup PRO+ microSDXC: 2 TB for your underwater expeditions

On the deck of a dive boat, between dives, the moment when you have to open a waterproof container to change a full memory card is a delicate operation. The ambient humidity, wet hands, and salty spray create a harsh environment for the sensitive electronics of our action cameras. It is in this context of logistical constraints that the TeamGroup PRO+ microSDXC UHS-I V30 finds its place, offering a storage capacity of 2 TB that pushes the usual limits of the microSD format. For a diver embarking on a cruise, this capacity drastically changes file management by centralizing the entire trip on a single storage device, minimizing risky handling in the marine environment.

File management then becomes a task for the end of the day rather than an urgent issue between dives, leaving more time for equipment preparation.

Beyond the flagship model, the range extends from 128GB to 1TB, offering options to suit various needs. Each card in the series is certified UHS-I U3, V30, and A2 [2]. These certifications guarantee a solid technical foundation for high-definition video. The A2 class ensures smooth application performance if the card is used in a smartphone or tablet for quick editing between dive sites. This versatility is an asset for those who like to view their initial footage upon surfacing.

Performance Enhanced by TechnologyIn terms of performance, TeamGroup claims theoretical peak speeds of 160 MB/s for reading and 110 MB/s for writing for models with a capacity of 256 GB or greater [1].

The AquaExposure performance score of 8.6 out of 10 reflects this reality. This is a good result for a UHS-I card, but it highlights that we are still using an interface with its own physical limitations. For recording standard 4K video, these speeds are sufficient and ensure stable writing without any dropped frames. The V30 certification guarantees a constant minimum write speed of 30 MB/s, which is the threshold required to avoid stuttering during underwater photography.

Robustness designed for field use.The underwater environment is unforgiving of carelessness.

The card is resistant to X-rays, which prevents data degradation during airport security scans. The operating temperature range, from -25°C to 85°C, allows the card to be used in both expeditions under ice and in tropical climates. Protection against electrostatic discharge further enhances its reliability, ensuring safe file transfers to your computer in environments that may be prone to static buildup.

Who is this card for?

This storage device is ideal for videographers and photographers who prioritize autonomy. If you are on a dive trip where access to a data transfer station is limited, or if you prefer not to open your waterproof housing for several days, the 2TB version is a logical choice. It is suitable for action cameras such as the GoPro Hero series or Insta360 models, as well as drones like the DJI Air or Mini. Its ability to handle 4K video streams makes it a reliable tool for documenting your pelagic explorations. The AquaExposure reliability score of 9.1 out of 10 highlights the confidence you can place in this model for preserving your memories. It's an investment in peace of mind for those who believe that storage should never be a limitation when capturing the moment.

Limitations and technical compatibility

The extremely high density of 2 TB in such a small format requires careful attention. User feedback on this record-breaking capacity is recent, and some independent tests report real-world performance closer to 80 MB/s in typical use [2]. A decrease in performance may also be observed as the card fills up. Regular formatting via the camera is recommended to maintain an optimal file structure.

The lack of a specific IP rating for water resistance means that the card should not be left in the water. It can withstand surface accidents, but its proper place is in a safe environment, either inside the camera or in a rigid carrying case. It is also important to check the compatibility of your device with 2 TB cards, as some older models may be limited to lower capacities.

A choice dictated by exploration.

When you return to the boat and pack your equipment, knowing that all your day's footage is safely stored on a single card provides a certain peace of mind. This invisible comfort often defines the success of a photographic trip. When the equipment stops demanding your attention, you are finally left with what you came for: changing light, a sense of quiet, and the simple desire to return to the water.
