Exocet Diving: French-Swiss technical wetsuits designed for female divers.
Exocet Diving, a Franco-Swiss brand manufactured in Portugal, funded its Azur collection on Ulule. Tethys, Ephyre, Atlan: technically advanced wetsuits designed for female divers, not just suits.
Exocet Diving: French-Swiss technical wetsuits designed for female divers
No. The Tethys, Ephyre, and Atlan are technical suits designed to be worn as a base layer under a wetsuit or drysuit, and not as a standalone thermal layer. They are garments for comfort and support, and are not a replacement for your wetsuit.
Is the Ulule campaign for Exocet still active?
No, it is finished. The pre-order campaign on Ulule, which offered a Tethys and Ephyre set for 115 euros, has ended. The brand's website still indicated a launch was imminent at the beginning of August, but no delivery date has been confirmed to date.
What exactly does the Azur collection from Exocet offer?
Three options are available. The Tethys and Ephyre models are a two-piece set (top with long sleeves and separate bottoms) designed to stay in place under a wetsuit without the need for ties or fasteners. The Atlan model is a one-piece suit. All three are made from recycled fabric, and the brand claims to have GRS and OEKO-TEX certifications.
What is the current availability and final price?
Not yet confirmed. The brand is still in its launch and pre-order phase. The price of 115 euros, which was seen during the Ulule campaign, is not guaranteed as the final selling price. It is best to follow the Exocet Diving website directly before making a purchase.
There are brands that have existed for years without anyone ever mentioning them, and then one day a media feature changes that. This is what just happened to Exocet Diving. The magazine PLONGEZ! dedicated an article to their technical wetsuits, the brand responded with a post on its own blog in early August, and this is the first time the name has truly emerged from its niche.
I haven't tested it in real-world conditions yet. This isn't a review article, but rather a field report of what the brand offers and why it's worth following.
A French-Swiss brand, manufactured in Portugal
Exocet Diving positions itself as a French and Swiss brand, with manufacturing based in Portugal. Its focus isn't the wetsuit itself, but what you wear underneath. The collection is called Azur, and it includes three models: Tethys and Ephyre, which form a two-piece set (long-sleeved top and bottoms), and Atlan, the one-piece version. The concept is simple in theory. This technical swimsuit has no ties or fasteners and is constructed using seamless technology (no seams against the skin), designed to stay in place under a wetsuit or drysuit without creating friction points. The material is advertised as 100% recycled textile, with the brand claiming GRS and OEKO-TEX certifications. These are claims made by the manufacturer at this stage, not independent tests, but they reflect a growing trend in technical equipment, favoring certified recycled materials over simple marketing claims.
This positioning has an important implication that needs to be understood before proceeding: Exocet Diving is not selling a wetsuit. It is a technical base layer, designed for comfort and support under an existing thermal protection system. If you are looking for a wetsuit, this is not the product for you.
The Ulule campaign is over, which changes things
Exocet Diving funded the launch of its Azur collection through a pre-order campaign on Ulule. A Tethys and Ephyre set was offered for 115 euros. This campaign is now complete. What remains to be seen is the availability. At the beginning of August, the brand's website still indicated an imminent launch, but without a confirmed delivery date. As of the writing of this article, the status remains the same: the product is slated for launch and is available for pre-order, with stock and the final retail price to be confirmed directly on the brand's website.
This combination – a campaign that has been funded, but a product that has not yet been delivered – explains why the press coverage from PLONGEZ! is coming at a good time. A brand that goes from zero visibility to an article in a specialized magazine, just as its collection is about to be released, is a sign that it deserves to be followed now, rather than in six months.
Why This Interests Me
I received neither a sample nor any compensation for this article. What interests me here is the niche. Technical equipment for women remains a blind spot for many dive brands, which often adapt men's cuts rather than designing from scratch for a specific purpose. A European brand that documents its materials, claims verifiable certifications, and is emerging from a crowdfunding phase rather than a simple product launch, is worth following even before having tested the product in real-world conditions.
As soon as I receive a sample, I will conduct a field test, wearing a wetsuit, in real diving conditions. In the meantime, you should follow the brand's website for availability and the final price, as the Ulule page is now a thing of the past for this collection.
