Alternative Duckmouth Stage Parachute - 1.45m - DAUPHIN rose: technical review, safety analysis, and DSMB limitations (2026).

Safety at sea is never compromised for aesthetic or commercial reasons. While the AquaExposure catalog features a wide range of diving equipment, certain products are deliberately excluded from our recommended selection. This is the case with the "Autre Parachute de palier bec de canard 1.45 m DAUPHIN rose," which is excluded for the following reason: Decorative shape with a high-air pocket. This technical sheet aims to transparently explain the practical and safety reasons that motivate this editorial choice.

The "Autre Parachute de palier bec de canard 1.45 m DAUPHIN rose," designed by the brand "Autre," is a signaling parachute (standard length) available on the diving market. While it may be appealing due to its price or visual originality, its technical design directly contradicts the safety and marine environment protection standards established by AquaExposure.

Our evaluation system applies strict exclusionary rules even before calculating a numerical score. A dive parachute is a survival tool, not a gadget.

Reason for Exclusion: Decorative shape with a high-air pocket.Decorative shapes, animal silhouettes, or air pockets at the top create a dangerous hydrostatic imbalance. During ascent, the physical expansion of the air trapped in a raised protrusion causes the buoy to tilt horizontally. At the surface, the parachute lies flat on the water instead of remaining upright, ruining its fundamental role as a marker.

In the field, these design flaws translate into risky situations:

1. 1Loss of visual signal for the support boat: A parachute that floats flat or whose color blends into the marine foam makes it difficult for the pilot of the inflatable boat to quickly locate the drifting dive group.
2. 2Environmental impact on underwater environments: Models with direct weighting systems irreparably damage coral substrates and seagrass beds during deployments near the bottom.
3. 3Unpredictable behavior during ascent: Non-linear geometries increase hydrodynamic drag and risk pulling the spool from the diver's hands due to air expansion.

|---|---|---| | Primary Visibility | Not optimal specification | Choose an orange safety or high-visibility pink model. | | Tube Geometry | Non-linear shape | Choose a vertical, waterproof, straight tube with a calibrated valve. | | Weighting and Line | Standard format | Choose an unweighted finger spool with a double-ender stainless steel shackle. | | Editorial Status | Excluded from the comparison | Select a model from our recommended list. |

AquaExposure does not recommend using the Autre Parachute de palier bec de canard 1.45 m DAUPHIN pink as a primary signaling device. For your safety and to respect marine ecosystems, we encourage you to choose a closed-tube parachute in orange or pink, equipped with an overpressure valve, and connected to an independent spool.
