SEAC Partner Review- Essential freediving equipment at unbeatable prices.
Discover our complete review of the SEAC Partner. An affordable, lightweight, and simple freediving computer to help you track your surface intervals safely.
No, the SEAC Partner is designed exclusively for freediving and spearfishing. It completely lacks the multi-gas modes and decompression algorithms necessary for scuba diving.
How many dives can the SEAC Partner record?
This computer records and stores profiles of up to 99 freediving sessions directly in its internal memory.
Can I replace the battery in my SEAC Partner myself?
Yes, it is powered by a standard CR2032 button cell battery that the user can replace. This is extremely convenient and minimizes downtime.
The world of freediving and spearfishing demands absolute concentration, where each piece of equipment should fade into the background, allowing you to focus on the sensations. Before even talking about depth or dive time, safety relies on a strict management of surface intervals. It is precisely with this in mind that the SEAC Partner was created. We are faced with an instrument that does not seek to impress with superfluous features or complex screens. It focuses on a single, vital mission: to provide essential data to ensure your sessions are safe, without weighing down your wrist or breaking the bank. The approach is direct, almost spartan, but it addresses a very specific need that many practitioners are looking for. Let's analyze together what this freediving watch truly offers and whether it deserves to accompany you on your next dives.

Detailed Analysis
O1 Algorithm (1.5/5)
This computer is specifically designed for freediving and spearfishing. It does not incorporate any decompression algorithms. Its primary function is to measure depth and time, which are essential for managing surface intervals in freediving. There are no gradient factor adjustments or support for diving with mixed gases. This is a deliberate choice by the manufacturer to maintain maximum ease of use.
O2 Multi-Gas (1.5/5)Following the same logic as the lack of a decompression algorithm, the SEAC Partner does not manage any gas mixtures. It does not support Nitrox, Trimix, or rebreathers (CCR). The integration of gases via transmitter is also absent. This isn't necessarily a flaw, but rather a characteristic inherent to its nature as a computer dedicated to freediving.
O3 Screen (1.9/5)
The SEAC Partner features a segmented LCD screen, typical of entry-level freediving watches. The display is clear underwater, indicating depth, dive time, and surface interval. It lacks advanced backlighting or color display, which limits readability in very low light conditions. The screen size is approximately 1.2 inches, offering an acceptable compromise between compactness and readability.
O4 Battery Life (2.9/5)
Powered by a user-replaceable CR2032 battery, it offers excellent battery life for its category. This is a definite advantage for travel or extended sessions where access to a charging source is limited. Replacement is simple and quick, minimizing downtime between your dives.
O5 Connectivity (1.0/5)No connectivity features (Bluetooth, USB) are included. This means there is no option to download your dive log to a PC or smartphone. The complete history of your dives (up to 99 dives) can only be viewed directly on the watch's interface. There is no companion app for analyzing your profiles afterward.
O6 Instruments (3.7/5)
This model does not include a digital compass or advanced navigation features. Its focus is purely on dive metrics. It provides essential information with such clear readability that even when wearing thick gloves, checking the data remains intuitive. It's a straightforward measuring tool, without unnecessary extras, and it does exactly what it's designed to do.
O7 Durability (3.3/5)
Its lightweight plastic casing makes it comfortable for extended wear, both in and out of the water. The strap is designed to provide a secure fit over wetsuits. While not designed for extreme impacts, it is robust enough for its intended use in freediving and spearfishing. It is certified for a maximum depth of 100 meters.
O8 Price & Customer Service (3.7/5)Priced around €110 to €115, it stands out as one of the most competitive entry-level dive computers on the spearfishing market. Its value for money is exceptional considering its specific features. Regarding customer service, SEAC's reputation is quite average. Unanswered emails from the Italian headquarters are sometimes reported on forums. It is essential to go through a persistent retailer in case of any problems.
Who is this computer for?
The SEAC Partner is perfect for beginner spearfishermen and freedivers who want to acquire their first dedicated measurement tool. It's ideal for those who want to monitor their surface interval times without breaking the bank. It's a very sensible purchase for targeted diving activities. However, for divers considering moving on to scuba diving or who want to analyze their dive profiles using PC software, this choice will quickly prove limiting. It is crucial to understand that this device does not offer any decompression modes.
Customer Service and SupportAs mentioned in the detailed analysis, the after-sales service provided by SEAC requires careful consideration. The reputation is quite average, with user feedback indicating difficulties in obtaining direct responses from the Italian headquarters. To ensure effective warranty support, it is highly recommended to go through a trusted local dealer who can act as an intermediary and advocate for your interests with the brand.
Power Supply
The choice of a replaceable CR2032 battery is a major advantage for convenience. Whether you are on a remote cruise or using it daily, you are never dependent on a charging cable or power outlet. Simply slip a spare battery into your dry bag to ensure continuous operation of your instrument. This is a practical approach that aligns well with the minimalist design of this computer.
