Review and product information: Tusa Paragon M-2001 dive mask.
Detailed technical and product analysis of the Tusa Paragon M-2001 dual-lens mask. Includes scores, Tri-Mix structure details, CrystalView AR/UV420 lens information, and morphological limitations.
What are the main innovations of the Tusa Paragon M-2001 mask?
The Tusa Paragon M-2001 features a rigid frame constructed from Tri-Mix materials, combining polycarbonate, a metal skeleton, and PuRiMaX polyurethane. It also includes a Freedom Fit II skirt and CrystalView optical lenses with an anti-reflective coating and UV420 filter.
Does the anti-reflective and UV420 coating replace a mirrored lens?
No, while the anti-reflective (AR) coating and the UV420 filter improve light transmission and reduce internal reflections, they are not a tinted or mirrored lens designed to hide the eyes in bright surface conditions.
What is the overall rating assigned to the Tusa Paragon M-2001 in our product review database?
The Tusa Paragon M-2001 receives a documented overall rating of 4.34 out of 5. This score is calculated based on seven criteria that evaluate design, durability, optics, and ergonomics.
Why is a face trial without straps still essential before making a purchase?
No skirt scoring or descriptive chart guarantees a perfect seal on any given face. A morphological test without straps allows you to verify the absence of leaks and pressure points.

Detailed Analysis
M1 Volume and Field of Vision
The first section evaluates the volumetric design and viewing geometry. The Tusa Paragon M-2001 features a dual-lens structure. Sources do not specify the exact volume in milliliters nor the precise angle of the field of vision.
Volume and architecture: Data not documented with an exact value (Score: 4.2/5) Lens geometry: Dual-lens design suitable for integrating optical corrections (Score: 4.2/5) * Perceived field of view: Width optimized by the frame arrangement but limited by the dual-lens structure (Score: 4.2/5)
M2 Skirt and Fit
The second section focuses on the silicone skirt. The model incorporates Freedom Fit II technology with a micro-textured surface, varying thicknesses, and rounded edges to minimize pressure marks. Skirt Technology: Micro-textured Freedom Fit II silicone with varying thicknesses (Score: 4.5/5) Contact Comfort: Rounded edges for even pressure distribution (Score: 4.5/5) * Morphological Adaptation: No universal guarantee, the seal remains strictly personal (Score: 4.5/5)
M3 Lenses and Communication
The third section analyzes optical quality. The Tusa Paragon M-2001 uses CrystalView lenses with high light transmission, featuring an anti-reflective coating and a UV420 filter.
Lens Clarity: High-transmission CrystalView optical lenses (Score: 4.8/5) Surface Treatments: Integrated anti-reflective coating and UV420 filter (Score: 4.8/5) * Visual Communication: Excellent clarity allowing for the reading of facial expressions by your dive buddy (Score: 4.8/5)
M4 Anti-Fog and Maintenance
The fourth section examines fog management. No permanent anti-fog treatment is mentioned from the factory, requiring standard lens preparation.
Factory Anti-Fog Treatment: Data not documented or absent, requiring manual preparation (Score: 3.0/5) Maintenance Compatibility: Materials compatible with common diving cleaning solutions (Score: 3.0/5) * Coating Durability: Precautions required when cleaning the anti-reflective treated surface (Score: 3.0/5)
M5 Strap and ErgonomicsThe fifth section evaluates the mask's fit. The mask features a 3D ergonomic strap and quick-adjust buckles with five adjustable positions, designed for use with gloves.
Strap Design: 3D silicone ergonomic strap (Score: 4.6/5) Buckle System: Quick-adjust system with five positions (Score: 4.6/5) * Ease of Use: Easy to handle in underwater or full-face mask environments (Score: 4.6/5)
M6 Durability and Accessories
The sixth section measures durability. The Tri-Mix frame combines polycarbonate, a metal structure, and PuRiMaX polyurethane. A hard case is included.
Structural Integrity: Reinforced Tri-Mix multi-material frame (Score: 4.8/5) Assembly Quality: Careful finishing and increased resistance to mechanical stress (Score: 4.8/5) * Included Accessories: Hard protective case included from the factory (Score: 4.8/5)
M7 Price and Availability
The seventh section positions the model, as of August 18, 2026, at a retail price of €229 in the high-end segment.
Pricing: Retail price of €229 (Score: 3.8/5) Availability: Available through specialized distributors and authorized retailers (Score: 3.8/5) * Overall Value: High investment justified by frame and optical technologies (Score: 3.8/5)
What to Know Before You BuyThe Tri-Mix rigid frame gives the mask remarkable solidity, but it also results in a heavier weight compared to frameless soft masks. The CrystalView lenses with anti-reflective coating and UV420 filter enhance contrast, although they cannot replace a tinted lens used on the surface. Finally, the lack of permanent anti-fog treatment requires careful cleaning before the first use.
## Mask Testing Before Purchase: The Most Important Factor This comparison helps you compare the different models. However, it can never tell you if a mask is suitable for your face. Before buying, place the mask on your face without the strap, inhale gently through your nose, and check that it stays in place on its own, without any pressure points or leaks. This step represents over 80% of the actual importance of your purchase. If the skirt doesn't fit your facial structure, no ultra-clear lens, anti-fog treatment, or buckle system will compensate for the problem.
Safety Reminder
The clarity of the lenses in the Tusa Paragon M-2001 allows for clear non-verbal communication within the dive team, making it easier to read facial expressions. Anti-reflective coated lenses preserve useful transparency, unlike dark lenses in low-light environments.
Our VerdictThe Tusa Paragon M-2001 is a high-end piece of equipment meticulously designed for divers who value structural integrity and optical clarity. Its performance ratings reflect the quality of its Tri-Mix frame and its CrystalView lenses, which are treated with AR (anti-reflective) and UV420 coatings. However, purchasing this model at 229 euros requires a prior morphological assessment, as the facial seal is a strictly individual matter.
Maintenance and Lifespan
Rinsing with fresh water after each dive removes salt and preserves the silicone of the Freedom Fit II skirt as well as the Quick-Adjust buckles. Storing it away from sunlight and using a hard case prevents premature wear.
Other Models from the Brand to Compare
For divers who are undecided within the same range, the manufacturer also offers the Tusa Paragon S M-1007, which features a single-lens design while still retaining the Tri-Mix frame and skirt and optical technologies. Comparing the bi-lens M-2001 version with the single-lens M-1007 version allows you to choose based on your preference for a panoramic field of view or a bi-lens configuration.
