Nauticam Releases an Underwater Housing for Atomos Ninja TX Monitors

There's a question I always ask when a student shows me their video setup, complete with monitors, arms, and accessories: does each piece truly enhance the image, or is it primarily there to provide reassurance? The new Nauticam housing for Atomos Ninja TX monitors addresses a real need, but only for a portion of divers who are filming.


What the Housing Makes Possible

The NA-Ninja TX makes the Atomos Ninja TX, TX GO, and RAW monitor-recorders waterproof. The TX model, the high-end option in the range, records up to 8K/30p in ProRes RAW and features an SDI connection in addition to HDMI. The TX GO and RAW models are limited to HDMI, with recording capabilities up to 6K/30p ProRes RAW, and the RAW model does not have built-in Wi-Fi.

The housing supports all three models with HDMI and SDI inputs, as well as HDMI-to-SDI and reverse configurations. It is controlled via buttons and a dial that replicate the touchscreen controls of the monitor. Like the rest of the Nauticam range, the construction is aluminum with an integrated vacuum leak detection system.

Available from retailers like Backscatter, this housing is priced at approximately €2,800 (converted from $3,200), excluding the monitor itself and any connecting cables.
