XDeep Stealth 2.0 Review: What You Really Need to Consider Before Buying
A buoyancy compensator (BCD) isn't good simply because it lists many technical features. It becomes useful when it stops being a distraction for the diver. The XDeep Stealth 2.0 belongs to the sidemount category and makes a specific promise: to serve a diving practice focused on sidemount- cave diving- wreck diving- and advanced techniques. This review doesn't replace a hands-on trial, but it helps you understand exactly what this model offers and what problems it doesn't solve. [1]
The question isn't whether this BCD is inherently good, but rather whether it suits your tank(s)- thermal protection- weight system- accessories- and skill level. As a sidemount system- this model relies on the lateral mounting of cylinders. Its settings and use require appropriate training before any use in confined environments. [2] [3]
The Verdict: In SummaryThe XDeep Stealth 2.0 receives an overall AquaExposure score of 4.7/5. This rating should be considered within its category and not as a universal truth. Its key features include: 10 metal D-rings, 2 storage pockets, precise independent adjustments, and it is a reference in the sidemount category. Its main limitations are: very high price, complex configuration, and suitability only for experienced divers. [1]

Detailed Analysis
G1 BuoyancyThe stated buoyancy is 16 kg, which is equivalent to 35 lb. This value should not be considered in isolation. It must account for the negative buoyancy of the complete configuration, including the tank, gas, wetsuit, weights, and accessories. An insufficient value can reduce comfort at the surface. Conversely, an excessive value does not automatically make a dive safer. [4]
The Stealth 2.0 is considered by many to be the best sidemount equipment on the market. It features 10 metal D-rings perfectly positioned, 2 storage pockets (rare in sidemount configurations), and very precise independent adjustments. This is a worthwhile investment for regular sidemounters. Based on this assessment, the XDeep Stealth 2.0 receives a G1 score of 4.7/5. Trim control and purging must be practiced under the intended conditions, not just in a dry environment. [1]
G2 Weighting System
The model features a quick-release weight system with a stated capacity of 5 kg. It includes 2 trim pockets. This distribution can help adjust buoyancy, but it does not replace proper weighting procedures. Weights should always remain manageable and appropriate for the diving environment. [3]
The G2 score of 3.7/5 reflects the capacity and logical design of this weight system. Before purchasing, verify the actual functionality of the pockets with your own weights and your usual wetsuit.
G3 StorageThe XDeep Stealth 2.0 features 2 storage pockets and 10 metal D-rings. The product description details these attachments as 10 stainless steel D-rings, with a sidemount optimized configuration. This information is important when carrying items such as a bailout bottle, a reel, a light or a housing. [1]
The G3 score of 5.0/5 does not evaluate the absolute volume of a pocket. It expresses the suitability between the attachment points and the accessories typically associated with sidemount diving, cave diving, wreck diving, and advanced technical diving.
G4 Harness
The harness is described as a modular sidemount harness with independent adjustments. The product description mentions 3 adjustment axes. This is a useful indicator, but comfort also depends on size, shoulder width, torso length, the wetsuit being worn, and how the tank sits on the back. [2]
The G4 score of 5.0/5 reflects the potential for adjustment in this design. A test dive should verify that the straps do not pull, that the waistband does not ride up, and that the controls remain accessible when the buoyancy compensator is inflated.
G5 Materials
The declared weight is 3 kg, and the construction is specified as high-strength ballistic nylon. The D-rings are made of metal. These details indicate expected durability, resistance to wear and tear, and ease of transport, but they alone do not guarantee the longevity of a specific unit. [1]The G5 score of 4.7/5 reflects this assessment. The actual condition of a used BCD- its revisions, inflators, and purge valves - must be checked independently of the year it was manufactured or the brand's reputation.
G6 Versatility
The configuration is advertised for sidemount diving, cave diving, wrecks, advanced technical diving, and use in warm, temperate, and cold waters. The specifications indicate no declared dual-tank compatibility but do state sidemount compatibility. Therefore, its practical range is primarily for sidemount diving. [1]
The G6 score of 5.0/5 expresses its ability to adapt to different diving practices, although it does not suggest that a single model is suitable for everything. Any progression towards technical diving remains dependent on training, equipment configuration, and system checks.
What you need to know before buying
The first check concerns buoyancy. With a declared buoyancy of 16 kg, the XDeep Stealth 2.0 must be tested with your actual gear setup. A thicker wetsuit, a steel tank, saltwater, a housing, or a light can significantly alter the required buoyancy. The correct decision is based on a buoyancy check at the end of a dive, not on general rules. [4]The second check concerns comfort. This model features a modular sidemount harness with independent adjustments. Wear it with your usual thermal protection and then, while underwater, verify your breathing, access to the dump valves, the direct system, and the position of the cylinders. A poorly fitted buoyancy compensator adds mental strain that the diver should be dedicating to their surroundings and their buddy. [2]
The third check is regarding its intended use. As a sidemount system, this model relies on lateral cylinder placement. Its adjustments and operation require appropriate training before use in confined environments. The identified features – 10 metal D-rings, 2 storage pockets, precise independent adjustments, a reference for the sidemount configuration – should be weighed against its limitations: high price, complex setup, and suitability only for experienced divers. The average indicative price of €824 in 2026 is a point of comparison, but never a safety criterion.
Safety ReminderThe advertised buoyancy, price, and rating do not replace a real-world test dive, proper weight adjustment, or appropriate training. Any modification to the tank, wetsuit, weights, or accessories requires rechecking the entire configuration. For Sidemount diving, the key is to understand the equipment before entrusting it with responsibilities that it cannot handle alone. [2] [3] [4]
Our Verdict
The XDeep Stealth 2.0 is suitable for sidemount diving, cave diving, wrecks, and advanced technical diving when the diver's physique, weighting, and environment match the specifications. Its advantages include 10 metal D-rings, 2 storage pockets, precise independent adjustments, and its status as a reference in sidemount equipment. However, its limitations are a very high price, complex configuration, and suitability only for experienced divers. Therefore, the right choice is not to simply follow the highest rating, but to select a configuration that is understandable, comfortable, and appropriately sized for the type of diving you will actually be doing.
