Scubaforce Black Devil 32 Wing System Review: What you really need to consider before buying it.
A buoyancy compensator (BCD) doesn't become good simply by adding up technical features. It becomes useful when it stops occupying the diver's mind. The Scubaforce Black Devil 32 Wing System falls into the category of backplate + wing donut single tank systems and makes a specific promise: to serve a diving practice geared towards single tank setups, temperate water, beginner techniques, and durability. This sheet is not a substitute for a trial, but it allows you to know exactly what the model offers and what problems it doesn't solve. [1]The question is less about whether this BCD performs well in absolute terms and more about verifying whether it's compatible with your regulator, thermal protection, weight system, accessories, and skill level. As a backplate and wing system, this model separates the structure, harness, and bladder. This modularity can accommodate progression, provided you verify the assembly, weighting, and wing size before changing configurations. [2] [3]
The Verdict in Summary
The Scubaforce Black Devil 32 Wing System receives an overall AquaExposure score of 3.8/5. This rating should be considered within its category and not used as a universal truth. Its strengths include the double 1000D shell, integrated single-tank mounting, removable bladder, and metal inflator buttons. Its main limitations are the separate harness and weight configuration, the estimated price of the complete system, and the lack of standard storage pockets. [1]

Detailed Analysis
G1 Buoyancy
The declared buoyancy is 15 kg, which is equivalent to 32 lb. This value should not be considered in isolation. It must account for the negative buoyancy of the complete configuration, including the tank, gas, wetsuit, weights, and accessories. An insufficient value can reduce comfort at the surface. An excessive value does not automatically make a dive safer. [4]
The Black Devil 32 is a single-tank donut wing from Scubaforce, designed for tanks up to 15 L. It features a double bladder, Ballistic Cordura 1000D material, an integrated tank attachment that eliminates the need for a separate STA (Stabilization Tank Adapter), metal buttons, and a removable bladder with a zipper. The harness and weight components are optional: this specification refers to a complete, coherent system, not just the wing itself. Based on these features, the Scubaforce Black Devil 32 Wing System receives a G1 score of 4.0/5. Trim control and purging should be tested under actual diving conditions, not just in a dry environment. [1]
G2 WeightThe model does not include an integrated quick-release weight system in the described configuration, with a specified capacity of 0 kg. It includes 2 trim pockets. This distribution can help adjust buoyancy, but it does not replace proper weight management. Weights should always remain easily accessible and adjustable to suit the environment. [3]
The G2 score of 2.5/5 reflects the carrying capacity and logic of this model. Before purchasing, verify the actual functionality of the pockets with your own weights and your usual wetsuit.
G3 Storage
The Scubaforce Black Devil 32 Wing System provides 0 storage pockets and 5 metal D-rings. The product description lists these attachments as a standard harness configuration with stainless steel D-rings, and the wing is sold as a modular component. This information is important when you need to carry items such as a parachute, a reel, a light or a housing. [1]
The G3 score of 3.0/5 does not evaluate the absolute volume of a pocket. It expresses the suitability between the available attachment points and accessories typically associated with single-tank setups, temperate water conditions, beginner techniques, and durability.
G4 Harness
The harness is described as a modular harness + plate (optional), configurable to your preference. The product description mentions 3 adjustment axes. This is a useful indicator, but comfort also depends on the size, shoulder width, torso length, wetsuit, and how the tank sits on your back. [2]The G4 score of 4.7/5 indicates the potential for adjustment in this design. A test dive should confirm that the shoulder straps don't pull, the weight belt doesn't ride up, and the controls remain accessible when the buoyancy compensator is inflated.
G5 Materials
The stated weight is 3.2 kg, and the construction is advertised as double-layered Ballistic Cordura 1000D. The D-rings are made of metal. These features suggest expected durability, resistance to wear and tear, and ease of transport, but they alone cannot guarantee the longevity of a specific unit. [1]
The G5 score of 5.0/5 reflects this assessment of the materials used. The actual condition of a used BCD, including any servicing, inflators, and purge valves, must be checked independently of the year it was manufactured or the brand's reputation.
G6 Versatility
The configuration is advertised for single-tank use, in temperate waters, suitable for beginner divers, with durability features. The specifications indicate no declared compatibility with twin tanks and no declared sidemount compatibility. Therefore, its actual range of use in this configuration does not include twin tank setups or sidemount configurations. [1]
The G6 score of 3.8/5 expresses its ability to adapt to different diving styles without implying that a single model is suitable for everyone. An evolution towards more technical diving may require a different system rather than simply adding accessories.
What you need to know before buyingThe first check concerns buoyancy. With a declared buoyancy of 15 kg, the Scubaforce Black Devil 32 Wing System needs to be adjusted to your actual configuration. A thicker wetsuit, a steel tank, saltwater, a housing, or a strobe can significantly change the required buoyancy. The correct decision starts with a buoyancy check at the end of the dive, not based on a general rule. [4]
The second check concerns comfort. This model offers a modular harness and backplate that you can configure to your liking. Wear it with your usual thermal protection, then check underwater how easily you can breathe, access the dump valves, use the direct-system, and position the tank. A poorly fitted vest adds mental strain that the diver should be dedicating to the environment and their buddy. [2]
The third check is about usability. As a backplate and wing system, this model separates the structure, the harness, and the wing. This modularity can support progression, provided you verify the assembly, weighting, and wing size before changing configurations. The identified features- double 1000D shell, integrated single tank attachment, removable bladder, metal inflator buttons- should be weighed against the limitations: harness and weights need to be configured separately, the estimated price of the complete system is high, and there are no standard storage pockets. A suggested average price of €774 for 2026 is a point of comparison, but never a safety criterion.## Secondary Visual Focus: Harness Detail

Safety Reminder
The stated buoyancy, price, and rating do not replace a test dive, a weight check, or appropriate training. Any modification to the tank, wetsuit, weights, or accessories requires re-verifying the configuration. For single-tank backplate + donut wing systems, it is essential to understand the equipment before entrusting it with responsibilities that it cannot handle alone. [2] [3] [4]
Our Verdict
The Scubaforce Black Devil 32 Wing System is suitable for single-tank setups, temperate waters, and beginner techniques. Its durability depends on whether your body type, weighting, and environment match the specifications. Its advantages include a double 1000D shell, integrated single-tank attachment, removable bladder, and metal inflator buttons. Its limitations are that the harness and weights must be configured separately, the estimated price of the complete system is relatively high, and it lacks standard storage pockets. Therefore, the best purchase is not based on the highest rating, but on choosing a configuration that is understandable, comfortable, and sized appropriately for the type of diving you will actually be doing.
